CountCal Privacy Policy
Privacy overview
CountCal does not require a developer-operated account, contain advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, or track activity across other apps or websites. CountCal does not sell your tracker or date-record data.
Device and iCloud data storage
The current complimentary release includes unlimited trackers, multi-device synchronization, Apple Watch support, and watch-face complications without an additional purchase. Trackers, date records, quotas, and reminder rules are stored on your device.
When iCloud is available, core tracker data syncs through your private CloudKit database between devices using the same Apple Account. Week-start and complication-privacy preferences can sync through Apple iCloud key-value storage.
Apple operates iCloud and CloudKit. CountCal does not send tracker content to a developer-operated server, and the developer cannot access records in your private CloudKit database. Default reminder time, haptics, notification-detail preference, onboarding state, system notification permission, and scheduled notifications remain device-specific.
Losing connectivity does not delete existing local trackers or date records. Synchronization can be delayed while a device is offline.
In-app purchase
The current complimentary release does not require a purchase to use its features. CountCal may still use StoreKit to verify existing Apple-provided CountCal Pro entitlements on-device and does not obtain or store your payment-card details. Apple handles any existing purchase and account information under Apple's terms and privacy policy.
Notifications
CountCal requests notification permission only after you enable notifications or save a tracker with a reminder enabled. Reminder rules can sync, but each device schedules notifications according to its own permission and system settings.
Notifications use generic content by default and do not show tracker names or quotas. You can choose to show tracker details in CountCal Settings. Lock Screen and notification-preview behavior remains controlled by each device's system settings.
Retention, deletion, and export
You can delete an individual tracker or choose Delete All Data in Settings. Tracker, date-record, quota, and reminder-rule deletions also sync through private iCloud when available; propagation may be delayed while offline. Delete All Data resets local CountCal preferences and cancels CountCal notifications on the device where you perform it, but does not change system notification authorization.
Deleting CountCal from a device removes its local app data. This does not by itself delete data already stored in private iCloud or on another device, and data may sync again after reinstalling with the same Apple Account. Device backups and retained app data are managed by Apple and your system settings.
You can export the data currently visible on a device as a readable JSON file. CountCal creates an export only when you request it. You choose where it is saved or shared and manage it afterward.
Third parties and contact
CountCal has no developer-operated sign-in or data server, advertising service, or analytics service. Apple provides StoreKit, iCloud, and CloudKit under Apple's policies. If you email support, the operator uses the information you provide only to respond and resolve the issue.
This policy and the support page are hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical request information under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. YT does not add advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies to these pages.
